AItemizeIT is a home inventory app built in South Africa. It helps people keep a clear record of what they own, so an insurance claim never has to rely on memory.
After a fire, theft or flood, your insurer asks for proof of what you owned. Most people do not have it.
When you claim, your insurer wants a list of what was lost, with photos, receipts and values. Trying to put that together from memory, in the middle of a stressful time, is where claims go wrong.
An app that turns photos of your home into a proper inventory, stored safely and ready to share. We work with insurance brokers, who offer it to their clients so the records are in place before they are needed.
The principles behind the product.
A record only helps if it is accurate. When the app is not sure about an item, it says so and asks you to check.
People document their homes between work, family and everything else. The app works offline and picks up where you left off.
Your inventory belongs to you. You decide what to share, and with whom.
Brokers and insurers rely on records that are complete and consistent. We format yours the way they expect.
AItemizeIT is built by LieBieS Group, a small team based in South Africa. A few things we hold ourselves to:
We design backwards from the day someone needs their records, not from what is easiest to build.
Insurance is complicated enough. We write and build so that anyone can follow along.
We are a small team. We would rather do a few things properly than many things halfway.
We distribute through brokers because they already have their clients' trust and know what insurers need.
We build for South African homes and insurers first. What we learn here works elsewhere too.
Every claim story teaches us something, and we feed it back into the product.
